Nursery Rhymes

Nursery Rhymes

As we all know that infants respond to music and songs at a very young age.

Introducing nursery rhymes to babies provides them with a foundation to help develop language skills along with enhanced coordination and emotional development.

I feel that Music affects my baby's mood, and quiet, comforting music can relax him, it's just that I don't know the words of these old nursery rhymes which my mother still sang for me. Can anyone help me with 3 or 4 old fashioned nursery rhymes so I can sing it to my baby? Thank you sooo much.

Nursery Rhymes My Grandparents Sang With Me
by: Anonymous

Yes, I must say you are right, Music and sound is very healthy for baby's development.

Here is a list of a few songs which I know on top of my head:

  • HUsh-a-bye, baby,
    In the tree top.
    When the wind blows,
    The cradle will rock.
    When the bough breaks,
    The cradle will fall,
    And down will come baby,
    Cradle and all.

  • Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
    All the king's horses,
    And all the king's men,
    Couldn't put Humpty together again.

  • Hickory dickory dock,
The mouse ran up the clock,
The clock struck one, and down he run,
    Hickory dickory dock!

  • Little Boy Blue, come blow your horn,
The sheep's in the meadow, the cow's in the corn.
Where is the boy who looks after the sheep?
He's under the haystack, fast asleep.

  • London Bridge is falling down,
    Falling Down, falling down,
    London Bridge is falling down,
    My fair lady.

  • There was an old woman,
    Who lived in a shoe;
    She had so many children,
She didn't know what to do,
    She gave them some broth,
    Without any bread;
    She whipped them all soundly,
    And sent them to bed!!!

Enjoy them all...
