"Nuk Pacifiers or a different brand, which one should I get?"

This is a common question asked by new parents when choosing a Nuk pacifier (orthodontic) or a symmetric pacifier for their newborn

When shopping for Nuk pacifiers, a Mam pacifier or any other brand, there are several things that need to be considered. The pacifier brand and size will be the most important factors when purchasing a pacifier.

Most babies will likely take a pacifier brand which they used in the hospital, however there are still babies that will only like a pacifier for the shape of the nipple. Every newborn is different. That is why nuk pacifiers is usually not a baby gift because you can't know before the baby is born, which pacifier he or she will take.

If your baby is breastfeeding, try to use a pacifier that has the closest resemblance to a breast nipple. I had one baby that experienced nipple confusion when I first introduced her to the pacifier. I feel that the Soothie brand pacifiers are the closest in resemblance to a mother's nipple. Though not all babies experience this, you may prefer not to introduce the pacifier until your baby has mastered latching on to the breast.

Many parents hate pacifiers, while pacifiers are soothing to baby and are now recommended by AAP for use at bedtime for SIDS prevention.

Most new pacifiers are one-piece, like the a soothie pacifier, whether they are made of silicone or a combination of plastic and latex. It is very important to always check to be sure the nipple is firmly attached to the base of the pacifier. If you are able to detach the nipple with a tug, your baby will do so eventually.

The Natursutten Pacifiers, today, is number-one pacifier used in over 2,000 hospitals nationwide--over half the hospitals in the coutnry! Over 2.5 million pacifiers are distributed to newborns each year--this means that more than half the babies born go home from the hospital with a Bpa free Natursutten Pacifier.

These pacifiers are made from medical-grade silicone, in pink for girls, blue boys, and green-purple for unisex. One-piece design for less germs. Soft, latex-free nipple, and BPA FREE

There is a well known teething pacifier by the brand Raz-Baby.

Razberry teething pacifier

  • It fits into baby's mouth comfortably
  • First hands-free all silicone teething pacifier
  • Bumpy texture soothes baby’s gums
  • Cleaner and healthier for your baby
  • Non-toxic and 100% medical grade silicone

I used it for my baby when he was teething, I must say: It was the only solution. Thanks To Raz-berry.

It is very important when you buy nuk pacifiers to buy the right size nipple, not too big or too small. Most pacifiers come in 0-6 months and 6+ months. You should know that if your baby is a newborn, a 6+ months pacifier will be way too big and it might cause your baby to gag often. Buying a pacifier that is too small can be dangerous and a choking hazard, so buy the right size.

Brands Try different pacifier brands to see which one your baby likes the best. Some babies are very picky with brands and some babies are not. I always buy 3 or 4 pacifier brands for my newborn to try, I give it a week, and then I see which brand he or she likes the most. You, as a mother, knows your little one, so just buy pacifiers which he or she likes.

Once you determine which pacifier your baby likes, you better stock up on those, you will never regret it! I have one in the diaper bag, one in the crib, one in the infant seat and in the car. The reason, is because either I misplace them or my baby loses them - we always need a back-up.

Since I mentioned to you about losing them; a pacifier holder is a great item to have. It holds the pacifier, so your baby can't drop them on the floor. There are quite a few brands to choose from out there, one of them, which I like very much are the Binksters. Binksters offer fashionable baby products that combine function and style. They are made of fine fabrics such as chenille, minky, velboa faux fur and silk brocade and more. Their Binksters Buddies Pacifier Clips dies are so functional, yet it is their fashion flair that catches everyone's eye.
