Swaddling means wrapping a baby safely
I was really excited to visit your site and see all this information. I personally benefited. I am a mother of 4 kids, and I did use the swaddling baby blanket for all of them. It is about time for the word to get out to the rest of the world.
When I had my first baby, I did not know too much about blankets. One of my friends recommended I get the swaddling blankets. I went online and bought one.
After we started using the blanket, The baby slept 6 hours straight for the first time. Of course we were constantly checking to see if she was breathing.
The word Swaddling means wrapping a baby safely from shoulders to feet with a small blanket or cloth. A swaddling blanket is special designed for easy wrapping. Many doctors recommend swaddling a baby for the first few weeks of life to prevent SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.)
"How to swaddle"
- Lay out a blanket on a straight surface like a table, or a bed etc.
- Fold down the top corner about 5-6 inches and place the baby's head on that corner. Put baby's hands on their chest.
- Now take the left corner and fold it right over the body and tuck the end under the baby's right side.
- Now you will take the bottom corner at the feet and bring it up over the body.
- The last step is to fold the right corner over the baby and tuck it under the body.
You are done!!
Remember swaddling needs to be tight to work well. It is a good idea to practice before the baby is born, (on a doll) because you do need to know the art of swaddling in order for it to serve its' purpose.Enjoy your swaddling>
